Flashback: That One Time That Ben Carson Was Awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom

In 2008, former President Bush awarded Dr. Ben Carson with the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

I don’t know about you, but this is what I like to see. Men and women like this should be up there receiving these medals, not a bunch of celebrities.

From AC News:

In addition to the 2008 Presidential Medal of Freedom, Dr. Carson has over 40 honorary doctorate degrees, in addition to hundreds of other awards. His honor society memberships include Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, the Horatio Alger Society of Distinguished Americans and many other prestigious organizations.

In 2004, President George W. Bush appointed him to serve on the President’s Council on Bioethics. Also in 2004, the Library of Congress selected Dr. Carson for one of its highest honors. Dr. Carson became one of the Library of Congress’s 89 “Living Legends” during its 200th anniversary. In 2006, the NAACP bestowed upon him its highest honor, the Spingarn Medal.
